Stationery is something we all need in our daily lives, it's used by both children and adults. We use different kinds of stationery products like Journal, Diary, Notebooks, Pencils, pens etc. Green Feels has procured Zero Waste sustainable stationery products from different vendors like MyOneEarth, White Light Elements, Earthist to name a few. We are on a mission to ensure that more and more households use eco friendly stationery rather than the plastic and non-degradable ones that are contaminating our ecosystem.
The mission of Green Feels is to make your life and the lives of loved ones eco-friendly, waste-free, and stress-free. Usually our stationery is made from plastic which takes more than 1000 years to decompose. It's not only bad for us but also for the environment. Our range includes diaries, seed pencils, recycled paper pens, stationery gift sets, recycled postcards, etc. All these products are made with materials like fsc certified paper, recycled cotton and paper, which is waterless printing, natural colours, natural binders such as vegetable glues. They are also free from PVC and lead.
A lot of the products we use on a daily basis are plastic, and because they have a long life span, they end up taking up space in landfills. This is not only an issue at home but also on the job. Most offices use up a lot of paper, plastic stationery items files, they all add up to a lot of resources.
Plastic doesn't break down as easily as other materials so it will remain in our landfills for millions of years. There is also the potential for animals to eat these products and get sick because the chemicals seep out over time and pollute their environment. It's important for us to use alternatives that use less resources, are eco friendly and biodegrade easily instead adding up to the waste problem.
The pencil is often the first writing tool that a child learns to use. It is also the most ubiquitous and basic school supply, with more than 5 billion pencils are produced annually in India alone. And yet, the process of making pencils leaves so much waste behind.
Pencil tips are made from graphite mixed with clay, wood or coal dust, and short fibers of cellulose derived from plants or animals. The mixture is heated and extruded into long cylinders which are then cut in half and sharpened to a point on one end to create a writing tool that can be used for drawing or handwriting.
Graphite is a natural element found across the globe, but it takes lots of processing before it becomes suitable for making pencils. First, graphite ore must be mined from deep underground deposits of sandstone rock formations called 'pipes' and then processed into chunks. Then it's shipped to factories where it's ground down into fine powder as part of the production process for stationery and other products like paint, soap and plastics. The whole process is very energy and resource intensive.
One of the most basic stationery products that we use is the journal. It can be used for many functions like taking notes or creating to-do lists. You might also use a notebook for personal writing, such as keeping a diary or journal on how you're feeling.
Journaling has been proven to reduce stress and increase your mental health. Some people find that journaling helps them better organize their thoughts and their life in general.
Journaling can be therapeutic, provide perspective, and improve your mental health by helping you connect with yourself more fully. Green Feels offers eco-friendly journals from Paper nest, MyOneEarth etc. These sustainable journals are made with natural materials like recycled cotton, hemp, recycled paper and wood pulp paper. They are environmentally friendly and will easily go back to soil when discarded.
